Hello Juls Welcome to the forum but sorry you have RA. You story sounds very much like mine. I am 48 and was diagnosed in January 2009. I have tried and failed on two anti-tnf's and am now waiting for my first infusion of Rituximab at the end of July. Trying to get RA under control is an endless battle but I hope like me you won't let it beat you. You are never alone on this forum. Keep posting and keep asking questions. Take care Jackie xx

Hi Juls,
Welcome to the forum! You will soon get the hang of posting and will never feel alone again with your RA, on here we all know exactly what you are going through. I am 61 and have had RA for 10 years. Like you, I have tried just about all the DMARDs and am now on Humira and mtx. Hope the cimzia works very well for you once it takes effect. Looking forward to getting to know you.
Love, Doreen xx

Hi Juls
Welcome to the forum. I am Sheila aged 60 diagnosed 9 yrs ago. Currently on mxt. Posting on the forum seems a bit strange at first but you will soon be an expert. Lots of good advice on here. A good place to share experiences, discuss meds and condition and have a good moan if you want to. Keep posting.

Hello Juls
We have a few Julies on here (all trouble! ) and a few people on the cimzia.
I found it took about 4 wks to start working.
In the end, I had to stop it as the side effects were too bad.
I am Jenni, 35yrs old, married with 3 children who are 16. 13 and 3. I have severe RA and rather run out of treatment options after a long journey. This forum is a tremendous support.
Love
Jenni xx

Welcome Juls,
I'm Tracy, 40 diagnosed 17 months ago. Am a single parent of a 16 yr old boy who has just left school. Still working full time, but employers are trying to get rid........I'm not going without a fight lol.
I am also on Cimzia, the best thing I have found, is the effect it has on the fatigue. At the end of the day, I feel shattered, but due to a hard day's work. It is deffinately working/helping.
I have had 2 flare-ups since starting the injections which I do myself. I started on 13.5.11. I hope you will be fine at doing them, it's so easy when you put your mind in the right place with it. I did my first single dose just over a week ago, 2nd dose this friday.
If I can support you with this, I will, don't hesitate to ask
All the best
Trace xx

Hi Jules
Welcome to the forum.
I'm Jean, 68 married to my lovely Steve. We have one daughter, a super s-i-l and two wonderful grandkids - but of course all Grans say that, don't they?
You'll soon realise that everyone here is supportive and encouraging and usually, whatever your query, there is someone who has an answer.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Love Jeanxxx

Hi Juls, Welcome to the forum from me too, I'm Sara, 45, here in Cornwall with lovely husband and 3 cats, diagnosed last November. This was the first forum I'd ever posted on too but you soon get the hang of it! Great place for advice and moaning, I'm afraid I moan a lot, but also try to crack a few jokes along the way, only way to stay sane(ish)! Sara

I'm Anne 51 married with two boys 19 and 20 and a foster boy aged 9.
Diagnosed last May and currently on 25mg MTX which appears to be working well.

Hi Juls, I am Lorna, I was 48 when diagnosed almost 4 years ago, I've been on the triple therapy since the start although no longer on Sulph as I no longer need this one. Sorry to hear you have it too, hope you keep well on your new meds. Try to be positive and ask away, someone will always be around to answer you. This is a great forum and everyone is so friendly. Take care Lorna xx

Hi Juls Sorry for the late welcome to the forum, really pleased you are here as it is a wonderful place for lots of support and understanding. Haven t been able to post much recently due to terrible pain in my shoulders affecting tendons/ muscles in arms. Like you have failed on all my medication and following visit to consultant yesterday I will be starting Cimzia hopefully in the near future. I am being boosted up with steroids for about three weeks, so bit of a treat Look forward to hearing how you get on with the new one, really hope it works for you ! Best wishes Julia x
